Trump continues to earn support despite protesters

[AS EVENTS SWIFTLY SHIFT, TRY TO STAY RELEVANT AS BEST YOU CAN: WHAT’S THE CRITICAL DIVIDING LINE FOR THE LEVEL OF TRUMP’S SUPPORT? LESS THAN 50% OF DELEGATES MIGHT ALLOW A CONTESTED CONVENTION. IS CRUZ A ‘NORMAL’ CANDIDATE? THAT’S PERTINENT, BECAUSE SOME CONSERVATIVES DON’T WANT TO SUPPORT HIM EITHER, WHEN HE SAYS THINGS LIKE HIS CALL TO SEND THE POLICE TO MUSLIM NEIGHBORHOODS. WHAT SHOULD TRUMP-FIGHTERS DO INSTEAD OF SHOWING UP AT HIS RALLIES? WHAT WOULD WORK BETTER THAN THAT? I DON’T KNOW. RACK YOUR BRAIN — HOW ABOUT COMPETING RALLIES AT THE SAME TIME AS TRUMP’S, BUT NEARBY? OFFER US SOMETHING.]

Donald Trump is easily the most controversial Republican candidate in this election. He has incited anti-Trump rallies and violent outbursts in the last couple of weeks.

His campaign goes on despite the interruptions and he seems to be gaining more support. In Chicago, his rally was shut down due to safety concerns. The protesters and Trumps supporters would turn things ugly from there. Fights broke out, people were arrested and videos circulated. After watching it, I assumed his numbers were going to dip and his supporters would see how out of control he was becoming. I was wrong.

The following Tuesday, Trump would win Florida, Illinois and North Carolina sending Marco Rubio home. After all the violence and hate speech he still managed to keep winning. The reason behind his success comes down to him playing the First Amendment martyr. He plays the poor victim that can’t exercise his rights. In some ways, he’s right. The constant interruptions and detractors are doing more help than harm to his campaign.

In the next few days, social media took one of the weirdest turns I’ve ever seen. Conservatives poured in from everywhere to show their supports for Donald. Reasonable people who were voting for normal candidates like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio were jumping ship. They look at Chicago and Arizona as liberal America’s attack on our rights. To be honest, Trump is a smart man that knows how to distort anything in his favor. He may be a sleezy business man, but he is no moron.

If anti-Trump protesters want to make a difference, then stop showing up. Don’t give him the satisfaction of gaining votes and looking like a victim. He is not worth your time of day or an act of violence at a rally. Be bigger, be better and as always never trump.
