This weekend, both the men and women’s tennis teams will be active with what looks to be some exciting matches.

The men will get to stay home for the second weekend in a row and participate in their matches on campus against the University of Missouri-Kansas. The women, however, will travel to College Station to take on Texas A&M.

The women are coming off impressive matches against UTSA and St. Edwards from last weekend in Abilene. The Wildcats were able to take two team victories, including a 4-3 win over UTSA and a 7-0 sweep against St. Edwards.

They will most likely anticipate tougher competition against Texas A&M. The Aggies have a 3-3 record against nationally ranked opponents this spring and has a 4-3 record overall.

“It has been difficult getting back into playing, finding my rhythm and simply getting back the feel for the game,” sophomore Andrea Crook said. “However, I think that individually and as a team, we are prepared for Sunday. We have put in the time and effort, and work. Getting to play again has been really enjoyable and I am very excited for what is to come. In doubles, Nada Marjanovic, my doubles partner, and I have had some success and it has been awesome to get to play with her.”

The men are also coming off of some well played matches that were played here in Abilene and in Lubbock as well. The men pulled off impressive victories over tough talent including a singles victory over the no. 1 and no. 5 junior college player and the no. 13 Div. III player.

The men should see a good amount of competition in the University of Missouri-Kansas with their 3-1 record.

“I feel like we want to represent well for the loyal ACU fans and so there is a more focused team that shows up for practice,” senior Marco Bensley said. “We love having the ACU students come out to watch us, last weekend was a very big crowd and a great atmosphere.”

The women will begin there matches on Sunday, February 14th at 12 P.M. in College Station and the men will begin play here on campus tomorrow at 12 P.M.
