TV-14, 1 season, 10 episodes

Making a Murderer is a documentary following the real-life story of Steven Avery, a man who served 18 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted.

In 1985, Avery was convicted in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, for the attempted sexual assault and murder of a townswoman. Avery claimed his innocence for 18 years and was exonerated in 2003 by DNA evidence.

In a stunning turn of events, two years after his exoneration, Avery is arrested and charged with the grisly murder of Teresa Halbach, a photographer for a car sales magazine whose remains were found on Avery’s land.

Under the scrutinizing eye of the public, Avery once again has to place his life in the hands of the court, but he’s not so trusting this time as he and his family claim Manitowoc County has an agenda against him.

Alleged corrupt officers, potentially planted evidence and a man with a sordid past add up to a series that will have viewers questioning not only Avery’s claims of innocence and police corruption, but the United States court system as well.
