This weekend, the men’s tennis squad will travel north out of state, while the women will travel the two and a half hours west to Lubbock. The women will take on Texas-Permian Basin and Texas Tech, while the men will have a longer travel up to Colorado Springs to match up against Metropolitan State University of Denver, Air Force Academy, University of Northern Colorado, and University of California Davis.

The men will begin their matches in Colorado Springs at 9 a.m. on Friday against Metropolitan State University of Denver and will then face Air Force at 6 p.m. Saturday they will begin at 9 a.m. against University of Northern Colorado and will later face University of California Davis at 3 p.m.

The women will begin play on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Texas Permian Basin and will face Texas Tech later that afternoon at 4 p.m.

The men are coming off a successful weekend where they got two team victories over Oral Roberts (4-3) and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (6-0). ACU was able to get many impressive victories over their competition and did exactly what they needed to do to get these team victories, especially versus ORU.

“It’s going to be amazing competition in Colorado for sure.” Said freshman Josh Sheehy. “Air Force is going to be a great match because they are the home team and I know UC Davis is ranked right now. We’re prepared for a long, tough 2 days of tennis. I’ve never played in high altitude before so I honestly have no idea how I would prepare differently than usual.”

The men will face tough competition and also have a lot of matches to participate in as they face four different schools in two days.

The women look to build off of a great performance as well from Tuesday when they faced SMU and DBU. They split the team victories with a loss to SMU (5-2) and a win over DBU (5-0). The women will see the same type of competitive division one opponents this weekend especially in Texas Tech. The women will only two schools this weekend over one day.
