The ACU women’s basketball team added four recruits for their squad during the National Letter of Intent signing period.

Dominique Golightly, Pamela Herrera, Lexi Kirgan and Brea Wright will join the team next year for the 2016-2017 season. These recruits are expected to bring depth to the bench, that will be one of Coach Julie Goodenough’s deepest rosters she has had while at the helm of the program here.

Dominique Golightly is a 5’ 11” shooting guard from Chickasha, Oklahoma. Golightly has scored over 1,000 points in her career at Chickasha High School, posting a stat line of 17 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game.

Dominique has also collected a few awards and recognitions over the years with being named second team all-conference as a freshman and then being named a first team all-conference as both a sophomore and junior. She has also been selected to the preseason all-state twice, along with being named a VYPE top 100 player.

Pamela Herrera is a 5’6” point guard from El Paso, Texas. She attended Bel Air High School, where she recorded 15.7 points and 2.8 steals per game. Pamela led her school to win three district championships and two area championships.

She has also been named to first team all-district, all-region, and all-city teams during her career, along with being selected to receive the District 2-5A Offensive MVP honors. Pamela also drew interests from schools like New Mexico State, but choose ACU because of its nursing program and the interest and passion the coaches at ACU showed will recruiting her.

Lexi Kirgan is a 6’4” forward out of Bullard, Texas. While at Bullard High School, Kirgan averaged 18.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game. She helped lead her team to be the district champs during her freshman and junior year and runner-up for district champs in her sophomore season.

Kirgan received the Most Improved and Newcomer of the Year award as a freshman and has also been named to the first team all-district all three years of high school and as a sophomore was an All-East Texas honorable mention. As a junior, Lexi was named as the MVP of the district for the 2015 season.

Lexi was good enough to be ranked 65th nationally among all forwards and given a three-star rating by ESPN’s 2016 HoopGurlz. Kirgan will also bring some height to the basketball team, as she will be the tallest player on the roster.

Brea Wright is a 5’8” guard from Jarrell, Texas. Last season at Jarrell High School, she averaged 24.0 points, 7.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game, while leading her team to a 34-4 record and a state semifinals appearance. Wright has received many awards and honors over her high school career.

As a freshman, she was named District 22-2A Newcomer of the Year. Her sophomore and junior year, she was voted onto the TGCA All-State team, along with being named a TABC all-region and second team All-Central Texas teams.

Brea also is a two-time district MVP and has been named to the Austin American Statesman All-Central Texas First Team. For her career, she scored just under 2,000 points, grabbed just over 500 rebounds, passed for almost 700 assists, nabbed over 440 steals and had a shooting percentage of just under 60 percent from the floor.
